Top 20 Movie Lists

Here are my lists for "The Top 20 Films" of different categories. I think it's important to separate these film into specific genres, because we go into them expecting different things, and they are, indeed, successful for different reasons. For example, Die Hard was a terrific action film, and To Kill a Mockingbird was a terrific drama. Was one better than the other? Die Hard was much more entertaining, but To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic of American cinema. Depending on what your mood is, or what you expect from a movie-going experience, you'll prefer one over the other. Since I liked both for different reasons, I listed them both as worth watching.

As with any "top" lists, there are some movies (including your personal favorites, maybe) that didn't make the list, either because I didn't like them as much as some listed here (it IS a subjective list), or because I haven't seen the film.

In the following Top 20 Lists, movie titles have been organized alphabetically, not by preference. Note also that these lists will change constantly, as I see new films, list films I forgot I saw but enjoyed, or as I re-watch older ones. Memory being what it is, sometimes we remember films as being better than they truly are, so...

There's one more film genres that hasn't been listed above, but I couldn't find 20 movies that I would deem "the best" (that I have seen), so I opted to give it a Top 10 category instead:
